Kaya just underwent surgery to improve her vision and reduce some eye irritation. The 4-week-old kitten was dehydrated, malnourished and covered in fleas and ticks. In July, a Good Samaritan found Kaya outside and called TO Rescue for assistance. Odelkis Barrera, the founder of the TO Rescue (The Ontario Rescue), realized she wanted to save Kaya after seeing a photo of her unusual features. Kaya was born with a mushy, unhappy countenance due to a congenital facial deformity.
